With Judy unable to rejoin Milagro for the Baja Ha-ha a little help was going to be needed to get Milagro all the way to La Paz. So…..
Mark Koehler has signed on to crew the 2012 Baja Ha-ha with Gary and me.
Mark has very full schedule right now (moving into a new house, prepping the old one for sale/rental, etc.) so it took a bit of doing for him to make enough time to do this but this would make Ha-ha number 3 for Mark and apparently that was incentive enough.
Mark and his wife Mimi own Mimiya, a Catalina-Morgan 440 presently berthed at Paradise Village in Puerta Vallarta. Judy and I crewed with the Koehler’s on the Ha-ha last year. Mark joins Gary Skaggs to make us a crew of three.
Gary, a long time good friend of ours, signed up to crew very early on. Although Gary has sailed with us on San Francisco Bay, this will be his first ocean experience and he is really looking forward to it. Unfortunately Gary must leave us in Cabo San Lucas to return to (his) reality so the Cabo to La Paz leg of the trip will just be Michael and Mark.
Yeah – the 3 of you are going to have a wonderful trip south. Glad Paul has passed!
Sounds like you have it all in order and the preflight checklist is complete. My wife Laurie and I drove to Algadones, Mexico a couple of days ago and were going to swing into San Diego to look you up, but we got caught up with and returned to the Bay Area.
Have a good passage, Smokey
